Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

Bakeologie operates the website located at https://thebakeologie.com/ (the “Website”) and the Bakeologie mobile application for iOS and Android (the “App”).

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information entrusted to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it may be used, and the choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy applies to both the Website and the App. Some practices described below apply only to the Website or only to the App, as specifically indicated.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOW IS IT USED?

Information You Voluntarily Submit Through the Website

We may collect personal information that you voluntarily provide, such as your name and email address. For example, you may provide information by:

  • Leaving a comment;
  • Subscribing to a newsletter;
  • Submitting a contact form;
  • Contacting Bakeologie for support; or
  • Participating in another optional Website feature.

The App does not currently require or provide a Bakeologie user account.

Information Automatically Collected Through the Website

When you use the Website, certain information may be collected automatically, including your IP address, operating-system and browser type, referring website, pages viewed, links clicked, and the dates and times you access the Website.

The Website and its third-party service providers may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies as described below.

BAKEOLOGIE MOBILE APP

The App provides access to recipes and related content published by Bakeologie.

Information Stored on Your Device

The App may store the following information locally on your device:

  • Favorite recipe identifiers;
  • Recently viewed recipe identifiers;
  • Checked ingredients and ingredient progress;
  • Recipe-viewing preferences;
  • Sound preferences;
  • Cached recipe content;
  • Cached recipe images; and
  • Cache and image-availability metadata.

This locally stored information supports saved recipes, recipe progress, user preferences, performance, and offline access.

This information is not currently synchronized with a Bakeologie account or cloud profile.

Information Sent When Using the App

The App sends requests to Bakeologie’s servers to retrieve recipes, categories, images, and search results.

Like most internet communications, these requests may include ordinary technical information such as:

  • Your IP address;
  • Device or operating-system information;
  • The date and time of the request;
  • The recipe, image, or category requested; and
  • Search terms included in a requested search URL.

This information may appear in standard server, hosting, security, or content-delivery logs. It may be used to deliver App content, maintain security, diagnose technical problems, prevent abuse, and operate the Website and App.

The App does not currently use this information for cross-app tracking, behavioral profiling, or personalized advertising.

Analytics and Advertising in the App

The App does not currently include:

  • Third-party analytics SDKs;
  • Advertising SDKs or in-app advertising;
  • Cross-app tracking;
  • Behavioral profiling;
  • Crash-reporting SDKs; or
  • A Bakeologie user-account system.

Website advertising, analytics, affiliate-link, cookie, and newsletter practices described elsewhere in this policy do not automatically apply inside the App.

App Permissions

The App does not request access to your microphone for recording. It may play an optional sound during Step-by-Step recipe navigation.

The App does not currently request access to:

  • Contacts;
  • Precise location;
  • Photos;
  • The device camera; or
  • The microphone for recording.

Deleting Locally Stored App Information

You may remove locally stored App information by using any clearing controls made available within the App or by deleting the App from your device.

Deleting the App ordinarily removes its locally stored favorites, preferences, progress, cached recipes, cached images, and related metadata, subject to the normal backup and storage behaviour of your device and operating system.

Because the App does not currently provide user accounts or cloud synchronization, there is no Bakeologie App account to delete.

HOW YOUR INFORMATION MAY BE USED

Information collected through the Website or App may be used:

  • To operate and maintain the Website and App;
  • To provide requested recipes, images, categories, and search results;
  • To store App preferences and recipe progress locally;
  • To send newsletters and promotional communications you have requested;
  • To send administrative or service-related communications;
  • To respond to comments, questions, and support requests;
  • To understand and measure Website usage and advertising;
  • To diagnose technical problems;
  • To protect the security of the Website and App; and
  • To investigate or prevent unauthorized, fraudulent, or illegal activity.

  • Customize Website content.

Third-party services such as Google Analytics, Raptive, Flodesk, and Amazon may also use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies according to their own policies.

You may prevent or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may cause some Website features to work differently or become unavailable.

The App does not currently use browser cookies for its locally stored favorites, recipe progress, preferences, or cached content.

NEWSLETTERS

You may voluntarily subscribe to Bakeologie newsletters through the Website.

Newsletters may contain tracking pixels or tracked links that help Bakeologie understand whether an email was opened and which links were selected. This information may be used to measure newsletter performance and improve future content.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in each newsletter.

DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Locally stored App information remains on your device until it is cleared through available App controls, removed by your operating system, or deleted when you uninstall the App.

Analytics and advertising information is retained according to the applicable provider’s settings and privacy policy.

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information controlled by Bakeologie by contacting us using the address below. Certain information may be retained when required for legitimate security, legal, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.

DATA SECURITY

Bakeologie uses reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information.

The Website and App use encrypted HTTPS connections when communicating with Bakeologie’s servers. Service providers are selected to support the secure operation of the Website, App, newsletters, and related services.

No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING

Some service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, or other countries. Information processed outside your country may be subject to the laws and lawful access requirements of the jurisdiction where it is processed.
